Tom Little for Clinton County Superior Court Judge
My Journey, My Calling
Back in 2008, I came to the realization that my chosen profession was not doing anything to help better the lives of others or myself. I was a regional sales manager for a wire and cable manufacturer, which was owned by a Fortune 500 company. I was just a number to them and expendable at a moment’s notice. I was not passionate about the products I sold or the direction of my employment. I lived in Chicago, Illinois and covered over thirteen states. I was constantly away from home traveling the country while trying to balance being recently married. I knew that I needed a career change when the flights were the most enjoyable part of the job. I wanted my life’s work to mean something when my time here on earth had ended. I knew leaving downtown Chicago and my first ever owned apartment was going to be tough, but I made the decision to go back and continue my education.
I had grown up being able to see how my father’s work had done so much to help those in need of legal guidance, and then I was able to witness my brother follow in his footsteps doing the same work. After being sworn into the Indiana practice of law in May of 2012, I was fortunate enough to join the family firm and have spent every day since using my abilities and education to help others and my community. I firmly believe that we are placed here on earth to use our particular talents to help mankind. The past thirteen years have been as rewarding and challenging as I could have hoped, but the unique opportunity to help my community as the Judge of the Clinton County Superior Court is a new calling I cannot ignore or dismiss.
The years of practicing law, my sales career before the law and all of my work in this community have prepared me for this position. I am finding that excitement again that comes with a completely new set of duties, responsibilities, and direction. I would greatly appreciate your support in my candidacy for Judge.
I feel that my years of practicing law, my career before the law and all of my work in this community have prepared me for this next potential opportunity. It is another to serve my community and help others, albeit in a completely different type of legal role. I am finding that excitement yet again that comes with a completely new set of duties, responsibilities and direction. I would greatly appreciate your support in my candidacy for Judge.
About the Candidate
I graduated as a Frankfort Hot Dog in 1996 and attended Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from the Krannert Business School of Management in 2000. I then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for two years followed by downtown Chicago, Illinois for another nine years. In 2007, I married the love of my life and we were able to spend the next few years together living in downtown Chicago and enjoying all that the city had to offer. When the economic recession came in 2008, I was laid off from my employment, but I had already started the application process for law schools. In 2009, my wife and I moved to Valparaiso, Indiana, and I began my legal education at Valparaiso University School of Law and graduated December of 2011. I was considered a “non-traditional” law student due to the nine-year gap between college and law school, but those nine years out in the business world greatly helped my work ethic and commitment to a law education.
Upon graduation from law school, we moved back to Frankfort in 2011 and purchased my grandparents’ house located where I spent my childhood and young adult life in Little Lakes Estates. Since that time, the home has seen many new additions including three Border Collies named Murphy, Margo and Foxie. I am a huge football fan in both college and the NFL, and I am a diehard Indianapolis Colts fan. My favorite months of September, October and November (I like to call, “sweater-weather” months) are filled with outdoor activities and any time away from the law office is spent with my wife, friends, and family enjoying country living on the lake and trying to find time to go on the ATV and Harley-Davison rides in the midst of my busy calendar.
